App Tutorials

Window-Eyes apps (not to be confused with Windows programs) are custom add-ons, written specifically for Window-Eyes users. Apps can add features to Window-Eyes, improve the accessibility of specific programs, or they can run as fully-featured programs themselves.

Refer to the Window-Eyes Manual for general app information.

For specific information on how to create apps and distribute them to other Window-Eyes users, see the App Developer Reference.

Making use of Hot Spot

Hot Spot allows the Window-Eyes user to set up a list of custom actions to be performed in response to a key press. This demonstration introduces the Hot Spot app by walking through four examples of how it could be used to accomplish day-to-day tasks including automatically writing one's name, searching for something on the screen and clicking the mouse, inserting attachments in Outlook 2010, and opening HTML email messages in the default web browser from within Outlook. For more information about Hot Spot, visit www.gwmicro.com/apps/hotspot.

Note that although this recording references Window-Eyes 7.2 and Miranda IM 0.8, the steps that are demonstrated still apply to the latest releases of these applications.
