4/27/2014 4:23:20 PM
The next version 2.71 of Breaking News will remove editbox hotkey conflicts and move history keys to the F5 to F9 keys.
Also changed the Breaking News caption and changed editbox arrow keys.
Also fixed folder file count in the view menu.
The new history hotkeys are:
F5: History back to move history pointer to previous history URL.
F6: Speak URL that History pointer is pointing at.
F7: Move to next history URL.
F8: Download the URL in the format it was originally saved in.
F9: Delete the URL the history pointer is pointing at from the history list.
I also added:
Control Up Arrow to say the URL the Link=# inside the editbox is pointing at.
Alt Up Arrow to say what is inside Link=# and save it in the clipboard.
Control Down Arrow to go to the web page that is inside the Link=#
I also fixed the display of the number of files count in the Alert View menu; it was not working due to a missing variable.
Also changed the Caption for the breaking News to Breaking News Alerts to reflect which dialog you are in.
Also added third option of the alert search, if it was not
heading one search and text not found it does the
heading one search anyway.
4/25/2014 9:51:55 PM
Version 2.7 of Breaking News has enhanced features for the history forward and back hotkeys.
It now has Control-Left Arrow, Up Arrow, Down Arrow and Right Arrow for moving through the history list without downloading the web page for viewing.
This allows you to choose which on the history you want to view next.
The Control-Up Arrow speaks the URL the pointer is pointing at.
Control-Down Arrow downloads the URL the pointer is pointing at and displays it in the format it was originally downloaded in; list, text or had gone directly to the URL.
Also added is the Control-Shift-Up arrow to allow you
to delete the the URL the history pointer is pointing at, thus removing it from the history list.
4/24/2014 8:41:13 PM
Version 2.6 allows you to go back and forth to previous web sites or downloads to list or view. You use the same hotkeys as a web site does, Alt-Left Arrow and Alt-Right Arrow.
It does not work if you have gone to a web site, it works when in one of the three Breaking News control panels; Alert, List, or Text/Editbox reading a web page.
So if you have gone to a web site you would have to do an Alt-Tab to get to one of the 3 panels. Or just do a close from the web site to bring you back to the panel you were on prior to going to the web site.
I fixed the lack of hotkey changes to the help files and other viewing stuff.
In the future I may include the web site back and forward if on the web site and to save all web sites for viewing when off line; which means no updates, just what you had previously viewed.
4/15/2014 9:54:19 AMVersion 2.52 protects against List View error when not present.
Added more labels for links missing labels.
Added Alt-Home hotkey to pop-up URL save to clipboard, which duplicates Alt-Page Up hotkey.
Next upgrade will be Forward and Back URL view feature, just like web browser Alt - forward and back.
4/11/2014 1:41:12 PM
Version 2.51 fixed errors in loading web pages and the second search option when viewing a page only.
Second search option apparently was not changed when editing wrong file.
Some Link= options did not work and that is now fixed.
The F2 hotkey for editbox functions is now added to the editbox help file list of hotkeys.
More pop-up errors have been removed.
Added remove files to the Alert file menu to allow manual removal of files in Breaking News folder; Later it will be a time function.
4/10/2014 5:34:19 PMVersion 2.5 Fixed looping when screen was maximized, now normal screen. Added control description by putting static text display where buttons once resided. Added is the F2 hotkey for the reading of the text from a web page to allow manual line wrapping when the auto fails.
So now at the bottom of the Alert dialog resides the description of what to do, such as add, delete, edit and saving. Version 2.4
4/8/2014 1:05:19 AMVersion 2.4 added like hotkeys for all dialogs when reading, listing and going to web site. It also fixed a slight fall in the search for phrase when web page gets loaded. Also removed pop-up for file save errors. Version 2.31
4/3/2014 6:17:33 PMVersion 2.31 fixed the search feature to set the search start at the document start when using the initial search default phrases. Version 2.3
4/3/2014 1:39:29 PMVersion 2.3 added the ability to go to a link while viewing it in the editbox. Added to the read only is a link label followed by a number so you can go to the link the text refers to. The number is meaningless and used only to place it in a dictionary and the number is it's key.
Also added is the change from the old Hotkey Alt-G for reading a page locally to Alt-End hotkey and Alt-Page Down hotkey.
The Alt-Page Down pops-up the web link URL and saves it on your Clipboard to allow you to save it.
The Alt-End hotkey goes to the web site from your editbox viewing. Version 2.2
4/2/2014 1:21:28 PMVersion 2.2 Fixed display of web page reading and gives a second search if heading one is selected and not found. So any search phrase is also searched for. Also the focus on each dialog has been improved when leaving another. Version 2.11
3/31/2014 9:05:28 PMVersion 2.11 Maximizes each dialog when exiting others. The Space Bar check hotkey now activates after leaving editbox save, which did not in 2.1 version.
Version 2.1 added the view menu option in the list to allow the enter key to either
read the link you areon or load the link you are on. Also the error for a web page
that is down has been changed to just pop up a message saying page can not be saved.
The control panel property for searching for the heading one tag at a web site is
now a check box. The box is checked or unchecked by hitting just the space bar. So
there are a few new changes to make navigation a little easier to use and set settings.
The file menu of both dialogs will save the settings made in each dialog by using

Added is the Alt-Page Down hotkey which replaces the Alt-L hotkey with the ability to add other web sites by just hitting the enter key in the control panel or hitting the delete key to remove a web site.
All editing and entry of web site information must be done by using the right arrow key when on the newly formed web site on the list and filling in all the needed informatio such as URL and search phrase.
The timer has not been added yet but is the final goal of this program for pop-up news.
3/19/2014 5:17:03 PMThis version changed back to having the Alt-End key to go to the item on the page but keeps any text prior to it. The edit find feature does have the search text in it so you can modify it just in case the auto search does not find the text because they did not use the same phrase in the body of theweb page.
Also this version protects against hotkey errors if the edit key is pressed before the page fully loads into the editbox dialog.
Still has all 1.7 modifications.
Nex upgrade will have alerts listed.
3/17/2014 1:34:29 PMVersion 1.7 has added all the edit hotkeys for the web page you have loaded using the Alt-End hotkey or Left Mouse click and are viewing the page inside the edit box.
you can find text forward or reverse and can look at a web link using the Alt-G key if one is displayed in a specific format.

Future will be a search hotkey and save the editbox text to a file.
3/8/2014 9:28:17 PMFixed display issues and Alt-End key only loads the page in text form and does not change listing.
Alt-T and Alt-W allows you to view the presenting listing as text or in HTML to alow clicking of links on that page.
Alt-End is only used for links on list to view and the other 2 are for the present list listed.
3/3/2014 2:53:28 PMCleaned Up Screen Display. Gaps in lists are filled with link info.
Some display had new lines and control characters and now are eliminated.

also fixed the UTF8/Unicode error .
When the link selected is loaded for viewing you will be taken to that section of the page unless you click on a navigation link then you might run into more navigation links listed.
2/27/2014 8:41:55 PMThis version has changed the Alt-V hotkey to Alt-T for the text allowing you to use the View menu to toggle the List-Detail view of the list View.
The list view now defaults to list and no links are displayed.
There is also a Alt-R hotkey that is for reading the link you have selected but is not working correctly yet, needs a delay for it only goes to the text file of the existing page.
2/26/2014 3:30:06 PMVersion 1.01 changed the Launch Hotkey to global and the Hotkey text file apparently was not in the package. So both changes have been made to justify a minor version change. Version 1.0
