TaskMaster is an exclusive tool for Handy Tech Braille displays.
With the Task Master you will always have the current running applications under your finger tips and can quickly and elegantly switch between running applications. The running applications are displayed in a special area, a so-called frame, on the right or left edge of the Braille display. An additional Braille cell with all 8 Braille dots set, separates the task view from the rest of the Braille display. In the task view, each running application is represented by a single letter (the first letter of the application’s window title). The task in focus has dots 7 and 8 set. Applications shown in the quick launch bar (only available from Windows Vista and above) have dots 7 set. Should you own an ATC enabled Braille display, the task’s full window title will be spoken to you when you touch the corresponding letter in the task view. By pressing the cursor routing key above a task’s letter, you can switch to this task. If you press the routing key on the task that currently is in focus, you will switch to the desktop. The cursor routing key above the separating Braille cell that has all 8 dots set serves the same purpose.
The hotkey Ctrl-Alt-t turns the task master on or off.
The Taskmaster also features a configuration dialog. You can call up the menu apps (Apps / Taskmaster / Settings) or press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-T to change settings.
The configuration dialog contains the following options:
Show taskmaster: Turns taskmaster on or off.
Speak Task name: Turns the automatic reading of the application title on or off. This feature is only available if an ATC Braille display is connected to the computer. You can also press Ctrl-Alt-s to toggle this option.
Show Quick launch tasks: Determines whether the applications from the Quick Launch bar will also be listed. Please note that this feature only works for Windows Vista and above.
Task section separation: When this option is selected, a space between the task area and main area is inserted.
Task view Position: You can choose whether the task area is to the right or left on the Braille display.Download Now
