As usual, Delete (without a selection) deletes a character in the forward direction, and Backspace deletes backward. Edit controls also often use Control-Delete to Delete forward by a word, and Control-Backspace to delete backward by a word. This script implements such word deletion for any edit control, and adds additional keystrokes with similar mnemonics as follows. Control-Shift+Delete deletes forward from the cursor to the end of the line, and Control-Alt-Backspace deletes backward from the cursor to the start of the line. Alt-Shift-Delete deletes forward from the cursor to the bottom of the content, and Alt-Alt-Backspace deletes backward from the cursor to the top of the content. Alt-Backspace deletes the current line. In each case, the new current line is read afterward. The directional keys first say their command name to reinforce what action is being taken. To restore deleted text, try Control-Z -- the Undo key in most edit controls. This global script requires GW Toolkit and Homer Shared Object.
