Accessible File Recovery Utility
by Aaron Smith on Thursday, April 26 2007It's small, it's fast, it's free, it's accessible, and from what I've been able to tell, it works pretty well. It's called Recuva (pronounced Recover, although not by Window-Eyes), and according to their website is "a freeware Windows utility to restore files that have been accidentally deleted from your computer. This includes files emptied from the Recycle bin as well as images and other files that have been deleted by user error from digital camera memory cards or MP3 players. It will even bring back files that have been deleted by bugs, crashes and viruses!"
In more than one instance, I've been in need of a decent file restore utility, and I've had good luck with Active Undelete, but it never hurts to have more than one utility around, and we love accessible software.
