CSUN Update

by Jeremy Curry on Friday, March 23 2007

It was yet another productive day at CSUN. The booth was very busy, and all of us were running around trying to get to various presentations at different times. Usually, it was like running around with a chicken with its head cut off. Smile. The Voice Sense and other new products are a big hit. I gave a presentation on the SenseView, or the PSV as we call it internally, and the new camera was very well received. Many of the HIMS employees are here, and we were able to sit down with them for dinner tonight. For several of them, it was their first time in the United States.

I think the highlight of the evening was one of the HIMS employees asked if the voice that comes up during the first installation of Window-Eyes was a synthesizer. We informed him that it was not a synthesizer, and that it was the voice of Doug Geoffray. He was so excited and wanted to meet Doug. Since it was so noisy in the restaurant, Doug got out of his chair, and walked to the end of the table. Clarence started the introduction with "This is Doug . . ." and then Doug started in with "Welcome to the Window-Eyes installation . . ." I'm sure you had to be there for it to be so funny, but we had a hardy laugh - maybe just the wine talking. Smile. Off to bed, and awaiting yet another productive day tomorrow here at CSUN.
