My Experience With Microsoft Vista2007-05-10My Experience With Microsoft VistaThis is just a general rambling about my experience with using Windows Vista. When I came to work for GW Micro, the machine given to me already had Windows Vista on it. In short, I was placed in a situation where I would be learning Windows Vista while at work. This was no problem since I like to tackle things head on. Using Window-Eyes with Vista was a non-issue since the access is there and it just works with no delays in speech. The below are just a small sample of my feelings on using Windows Vista for almost 2 months now. Comments, Pingbacks:
Hay Raul,
I always appreciate insite like this as it reflects your real world experience and points out some of the details tha have a real impact on day to day use. I myself won't be deliberately be going out of my way to get on vista any time soon, but that doesn't mean I may not find myself there sooner due to circumstances that are not known at this time specifically. From all that I have heard to this point about window-eyes under vista though I am not the least bit afraid of it from an accessibility standpoint of the OS. Individual aps always have us holding our breath though of course, but that does not become any more or less so under vista than XP at this point. I do look forward to having that individaul volume control and I am finding myself thinking that the edit field at the top of the new start menu will become a welcome addition. I do also find myself wondering though if there is any user advantage resulting from it needing all that extra ram or if it is just purely a result of the recording industry conspiracy crap that it has to process now. All because they won't just quit fighting the market and go with it. Anyway... that is an entirely different issue.
Sorry to ask here, but... I don't know another way to ask.
Will window-Eyes support Windows XP 64bits or Windows Vista 64bits? I haven't found any information about this. An answer would be really appreciated.

Window-Eyes will not work on a 64-bit operating system.
Are there any plans for supporting 64bits in the future?
I also have troubles finding TTS engines for 64bit. For example... The AT&T TTS Natural Voices do not want to install on XP64. Leave a comment:
