Q. Is there a penalty for paying off my Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes early? No.
Q. Do I pay interest on top of my monthly payment? No. Only the monthly payment applies.
Q. What are the differences between a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes and a non-Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes? The only difference is that a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes requires license numbers to be purchased and activated in order to run as a fully-functioning copy. Without an activated license number, it will run as a 30 minute-per-session Window-Eyes demo. You may be able to activate the Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes on more than one machine. To activate the Payment Plan copy on more than one machine, please contact the GW Micro Technical Support Department.
Q. How long will Window-Eyes operate with a single license number? Each license number will allow Window-Eyes to run unrestricted for 1 month. For example, if you activate your license number on February 10, it will expire on March 10. If you activate your license number on January 10, it will expire on February 10. When you launch a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes, you will hear the number of days remaining for the current license number, starting at 30. The number will go down each consecutive day (29 days remaining, 28 days remaining, etc.). If Window-Eyes says 0 days remaining, that means your license number will expire within 24 hours. You will need to purchase and activate a new license number to avoid having your copy of Window-Eyes turn into a 30 minute demo.

Q. How do I install a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes? The installation steps are practically identical to those of a typical Window-Eyes installation (refer to Section 2: Installing Window-Eyes in the Window-Eyes manual for additional information). The only difference is the process for activating your license number. Each method of activation can be found at www.gwmicro.com/paymentplan.
Q. The machine that I'm installing Window-Eyes on does not have Internet access. Can I still activate my Payment Plan copy? Yes. The Activation portion of the Window-Eyes Payment Plan installation will prompt you to either activate using the Internet, or activate via phone. You may also choose to skip activation during installation in the event that you will have Internet access in the future (in this case, however, Window-Eyes will run as a 30 minute demo until a license number has been activated). If you do not have Internet access on the machine that you are installing Window-Eyes to, please contact GW Micro technical support by phone at 260-489-3671 and we will be able to assist you with activating your license number manually.
Q. I know that the activation process uses the Internet, but I have a firewall installed. Will I still be able to activate my license numbers? Yes, although you may need to configure your firewall software to allow the activation software access to the Internet.
Q. What is the difference between activating a license number, and returning a license number? When you activate a purchased license number, you are enabling your copy of Window-Eyes to run for the specified amount of time (1 month). When you return an activated license number, you are removing the ability to run Window-Eyes unrestricted for the specified amount of time. In other words, when you return an activated license number, you are essentially turning your copy of Window-Eyes into a 30 minute demo. Returning a license is necessary when uninstalling Window-Eyes to avoid losing the activation.
Q. I installed Window-Eyes a few weeks ago, but now it says that it is a demo copy, and that its lease has expired. What happened? Your 1 month lease has expired. You will need to purchase and activate a new license number to return Window-Eyes to a full functioning copy.
Q. Can I activate a new license number even though Window-Eyes is running as a lease-expired demo? Yes, you may activate a new license number at any time, either before or after your lease expiration.
Q. I purchased three additional license numbers when I bought my Payment Plan. Can I activate all three licenses now, or should I wait and activate them later? Although you can activate all the license numbers that you've purchased at any time, we strongly recommend that you only activate a license number when necessary. If you activate all purchased license numbers, but have to uninstall Window-Eyes, you will lose all other activated license numbers. If the chances of having to uninstall Window-Eyes are possible for you, then you should not activate all purchased license numbers at once, but rather, only when necessary.
Q. My hard drive crashed, and I'm not able to return my license. If I reformat my drive, will I lose my current activation? No. You may reformat your drive without losing your activation. In fact, if you have multiple operating systems on the same drive, your activation will span across all operating systems (even across different partitions on the same drive).
Q. Do I need to activate multiple license numbers in a particular order? No, you can activate them in any order.
Q. If I have activated multiple license numbers, and then I need to uninstall, will I lose my additional license numbers? Maybe. If you have activated multiple license numbers, and then uninstall Window-Eyes, and choose to return your activated license number, you will lose any additional activated license numbers. If you choose not to return your activated license number, when you re-install, you will have the same amount of time remaining as before the uninstall process.
Q. Can I install and activate my Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes on multiple machines? You can install and activate a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes on one computer per month. If you need to activate more than one computer per month, please ccontact the GW Micro Technical Support Department.
Q. My lease is getting ready to expire, but I'm not ready to pay for a new license number, so I'm just going to set my clock back a month. Is this ok? No. Doing this will cause a Payment Plan version of Window-Eyes to turn into a demo. You will have an opportunity to set your date back to the current date (the date before you changed it) in order to re-activate your lease. You will not, however, gain any additional days. Also, if you attempt to set the date forward, you will lose that many days from your current license, and will not be able to retrieve them by setting your date back to the current date (the date before you change it). Any modification of the date when using a Payment Plan copy of Window-Eyes may result in the termination of your current license. You will then be responsible for purchasing and activating a new license number.
