Definition
A language attribute can indicate a unique language for a given element. If you are using a SAPI engine that supports multiple languages (such as Eloquence), and have multiple languages installed, Window-Eyes will automatically switch to the specified language (assuming correct installation), and will speak the element in that language. Window-Eyes also has the ability to recognize language subsets, such as en-gb (which stands for English Great Britain).
Navigation
There are no specific navigation keys for languages.
Verbosity
- Insert Beginning / End Message – This option will notify the user of both the beginning and end of an element that contains a specified language. For example, if the user navigates to an element containing a language attribute of lv, Window-Eyes will announce, "Beginning Latvian." When the user navigates to the end of the element, Window-Eyes will announce, "End Latvian."
- Switch Synthesizer Language Automatically – This option will allow the user to control whether or not Window-Eyes will automatically switch SAPI engines to reflect a language change on a web page.
