Adobe Audition started life as a simple audio editor called Cool Edit Pro.  In 2003, Adobe purchased the product from Syntrillium Software and after investing a significant amount of development resources, the program was rebranded as Adobe Audition.

At a high level, Adobe Audition is a digital audio workstation and delivers tools that video and film professionals, broadcast engineers, and audio specialists need for recording, editing, mixing, creating soundtracks, and restoring audio.

GW Micro developed a Window-Eyes app to enhance the accessibility of Adobe Audition 3 by exposing MSAA information generated by the program.  You can find additional information about this app including by visiting: http://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/App_Details/?scriptid=1219.

Adobe Audition 4, also known as Audition CS5.5 was released on April 11, 2011 as part of Adobe's Creative Suite of programs.  As of this writing, GW Micro has not tested this version of Adobe Audition.
