When you receive an email in Outlook, it may contain an attachment. An attachment is a file or folder that is included in addition to the text that you read in the body of the email. This article assumes that you have Outlook Enhance installed. If you do not have Outlook Enhance installed, please refer to the knowledge base article found at http://www.gwmicro.com/kb2043 for installation instructions.
The Outlook Enhance app makes it possible to open an attachment using the same method regardless which version of Outlook you have. Note that Outlook Enhance must support the version of Outlook you are using. To open an attachment, do the following:
1. Find a message with an attachment and press Enter to open it
2. Press Control-Alt-A
3. The Attachments dialog will open. If there is more than one attachment, you will be able to use the Up or Down Arrow keys to navigate through the list. Navigate to the attachment you want to work with.
4. If you want to open the attachment, press Enter. If you want to Save or Delete the attachment, press Tab to navigate to the respective button and press Enter.
5. After you have activated the Open, Save As, or Delete button, the Attachments dialog will close automatically. If you decide you do not want to work with the attachment, press Escape and the Attachments dialog will close.
