The Backup/Restore utility The "Backup/restore" utility is only used for backing up or restoring the Sense notetaker settings. This utility does not backup or restore the actual files contained in the flashdisk of the Sense notetaker. Backing up the settings is beneficial in cases where you want to quickly restore any program customizations after a firmware upgrade or after the Sense notetaker has been revived. Before you can backup or restore the Sense notetaker settings, you must first create a folder which will be used to keep the settings. Simply open the file manager and create the folder in the flashdisk. As an example, we will use a folder called "options". Backing up the settingsThe following steps will demonstrate how to backup all the Sense notetaker settings to a folder called "Options" located in the flashdisk.
The backup/restore utility will close once the settings have been backed up to the "Options" folder. Restoring the settingsThe following steps will demonstrate how to restore all the Sense notetaker settings from a folder called "Options" located in the flashdisk.
The backup/restore utility will close once the settings have been restored from the "Options" folder. Backing up the files of the Sense notetakerTo backup the files located in the flashdisk of the Sense notetaker, you will need to have a memory device such as a USB stick (thumb drive), SD card (secure digital card), or CF card (compact flash card) with sufficient storage space available. Insert or connect the memory device to the Sense notetaker and follow these steps.
Depending on the size of the files and folders of the flashdisk, the copying process may take some time. If you ever need to restore any of the files or folders from the memory device, simply copy them from it and paste them into the appropriate location in the flashdisk.
