Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock upgrades use a new authorization scheme. There are a few things to note about this new scheme:
  1. Instead of having multiple license numbers, you now only have one license number for the life of your product. This means no more having to remember multiple numbers. Instead, we now provide multiple activations for a single number.
  2. Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock copies include five authorizations, meaning your copy of Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock may be installed on up to five machines at one time.
  3. The License Manager utility has been updated, and now replaces the previous Internet Activate utility. In fact, the Window-Eyes 6.1 upgrade will remove the Internet Activate utility, as it is no longer required. All of your authorization tasks will take place in the updated License Manager utility. See below for a description of each of the License Manager utility dialogs.
  4. A VERY IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT THE WINDOW-EYES 6.1 EVERLOCK UPGRADE: After installing your Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock upgrade over an existing Window-Eyes 6.0 Everlock installation, your copy of Window-Eyes will revert to a demonstration copy. THIS IS NORMAL. DON'T PANIC. This is by design as Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock uses an updated method of copy protection that you haven't had the chance to activate yet. So once again, after installing the Window-Eyes 6.1 Everlock upgrade over a Window-Eyes 6.0 Everlock version, your copy of Window-Eyes will turn into a demo; that is normal and expected. Read on to learn how to get out of demo mode.
As mentioned previously, the License Manager dialog has been completely re-written. License Manager is a utility that will assist you in managing your Window-Eyes license number activations. You can activate and de-activate your license number either through a connection to the Internet, or via phone or email with a GW Micro Technical Support representative. You can access the License Manager utility through the Window-Eyes program group in the Start Menu. The updated License Manager includes a menu containing the following authorization options:

Internet Activate - In order for Window-Eyes to operate successfully, you will need to activate your license number after installing the Window-Eyes 6.1 upgrade. Until you do so, your copy of Window-Eyes will remain a demonstration copy. The Internet Activate option lets you activate your copy of Window-Eyes through an Internet connection. If you have a firewall, or proxy server, you may be prevented from activating successfully. If you are prompted to unblock or allow License Manager.exe, please do so. If you are unable to successfully activate using an Internet connection, you will need to activate your copy of Window-Eyes manually by contacting GW Micro at 260-489-3671, or support@gwmicro.com.

To activate your copy of Window-Eyes, verify that your 15-digit license number exists in the provided edit box, and select the Activate button.

Internet De-activate - If you need to move your copy of Window-Eyes from one machine to another, you will need to first return your license activation to the activation server. If you simply need to uninstall and re-install Window-Eyes, you do not need to remove your license activation.

Once your license activation has been removed, and returned to the activation server, your copy of Window-Eyes will be reduced to a 30-minute demonstration copy. Your copy of Window-Eyes will remain a demonstration copy until your license number has been activated.

Product de-activation will attempt to use an Internet connection during de-activation. If you have a firewall, or proxy server, you may be prevented from de-activating successfully. If you are prompted to unblock or allow License Manager.exe, please do so.

Manual Unlock - If you do not have an Internet connection, or are unable to successfully activate your license number via the Internet Activate option, you may activate your license number manually with help from a GW Micro Technical Support representative.

To manually activate your copy of Window-Eyes, you will need to provide the Installation ID to GW Micro so that an unlocking key can be provided to you. You can find the Installation ID in this dialog; simply press the TAB key until you hear the Installation ID number.

Once you have obtained your Installation ID, please contact GW Micro at 260-489-3671, or support@gwmicro.com. The GW Micro Technical Support representative will assist you with the rest of the manual activation.

Manual Remove - WARNING: Do not use the manual removal unless instructed to do so by a GW Micro Technical Support representative. Doing so may destroy your license.

If you do not have an Internet connection, or are unable to successfully de-activate your license number via the Internet De-activate option, you may remove your license activation manually with help from a GW Micro Technical Support representative.

To manually remove your license activation, select the Remove License button below. Once your license number activation has been removed, you will need to provide both the Install ID and Proof of removal code to GW Micro.

Once you have obtained both your Installation ID and Proof of removal code, please contact GW Micro at 260-489-3671, or support@gwmicro.com. The GW Micro Technical Support representative will assist you with the rest of the manual removal.

WARNING: Do not use the manual removal when moving your copy of Window-Eyes from one machine to another, as it will destroy your license.
