We gave an estimate, never a concrete date, and we're still in that
ballpark area.

Our last update was on April 30th

taken about updating the blog, though. That is, after all, why it's there.

There are those companies who release whether they're ready or not
simply because they gave a date, or because they have a deadline. We're
not one of those companies. We don't have shareholders. We have
customers. And we do not, and will not, release software that is not up
to par with what our customers demand in terms of performance,
stability, and reliability. No matter how loudly they clamor for it.
We'd rather get beat up for not releasing in time than get beat up for
releasing a stinking pile of crap just for the sake of some arbitrary
date. I understand the other side of that argument; release dates are
necessary for budget planning, and financial procurement cycles. But
this is a free upgrade, so that soapbox doesn't apply.

It's official: Window-Eyes 7.1 was not released in April. <grin> The
group was told (see the link above). I'm just not sure you were around
to hear it. That's no one's fault. It's just the way the bits fell.
I will give you a quick update while I'm here. The majority of the work
for Window-Eyes 7.1 is complete. We're working our way through a small
list of Braille issues, and then we'll start the process of getting a
release out to everyone.
Remember, this is a free upgrade. While you've paid good, hard earned
money for Window-Eyes, the upgrade is substantial for absolutely no cost
(aside from the cost of a CD if you want to install under a 64-bit OS).
