Hi Rod,
I’m afraid I don’t have suggestions; I don’t have the time that I wish I did to participate on other lists, but I just thought if those who were on this list happened to be on other blindness lists that weren’t specific to GW, it would be a good thing if you would mention how satisfied you are as a GW customer (because of <whatever>), or mention how the scripting is both so robust with features and easy to learn since it can be done in any standard programming language one cares to use.
You would both help other blind users, and help GW to flourish in a market which is dominated by legal issues, and enertia, rather than dominated by a constant discussion of what works best and what company treats customers the best.
It was because my local GW dealer said these kinds of things to me, at a time when I had had just about enough of 3-day-old-fish, that I’m on this list today; so I think we should try and pass it along to others.
Thanks again,
Chip

Chip,
You do deserve the praise, though. For me, as for many of us, it’s fine to have a manual, but your experience gives you the benefit of shortcuts which the manuals don’t, and we’re just lucky to have you on our team – we just feel blessed to have you, that’s all! Smile
Regarding other lists we should participate in to put out the word about Window-Eyes, do you have any specific suggestions, or do you prefer to fly under the radar on this? Smile
Cheers,
Rod Smile

Congrats Rod and continually producing ever more sophisticated apps, and thanks for your kind words.
Really, it’s not me you need to tell though, it’s other blind users; they need to know what’s possible with Window-Eyes, and to be helped to consider purchasing it for themselves to make the switch.
If you think scripting (like I do) is so important, point them to the scripting audio classes and try to get them to give a listen. If you think it’s the support from the owners and developers of the company, then tell them so and perhaps get them to sign up for the info mailing list.
I think we all need to spend just a little time on other mailing lists to help other blind users know they have better choices than 3-day-old (copy-protected) fish! <grin>
Thanks again Rod,
Chip

Subject: RodMasterVolumePresetRotator 2.0 Released! :)
Hi everyone! Image removed by sender. Smile
I would like to let everyone know about a landmark event for me – the creation of my first app with an actual dialog box, namely, RodMasterVolumePresetRotator 2.0! Image removed by sender. Smile
The last dialog box I created was 22 years ago, using WordBasic, which was part of Microsoft Word 2.0. Back then, I had sight, and I designed a dialog box an the code for printing odd and even pages of a document because, at that time, this feature did not come with this version of Word. Anyway, the dialog box I designed worked great, but, alas, went the way of the dodo bird, since upgrades made all my work pretty irrelevant. But, it had been fun, and gave me a boost of confidence. Image removed by sender. Smile
Well, warp speed 22 years into the future, and with GW Micro’s UI Design app, and with the wonderful help of Chip Orange and his amazing classes and examples, I finally got the chance to design another dialog box, learned how to write a dialog event handler, and put a neat little dialog into one of my apps. See the app in action yourself by downloading RodMasterVolumePresetRotator 2.0 using AppGet, or use this URL:
https://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/App_Details/?scriptid=1388
I have also updated my RodMasterVolumeControlSuite to version 2.0 to include the update of RodMasterVolumePresetRotator, and the URL is:
https://www.gwmicro.com/App_Central/Apps/App_Details/?scriptid=1389
My sincere thanks to GW Micro for their wonderful screen reader, Window-Eyes, for their essential app designing tools like WE Script Framework and UI Design, and a heartfelt bear-hug to Chip Orange, who has been a mentor in my quest to use my PC to its utmost potential as a servant of humankind! My best to everyone in their personal quests, and have a restful weekend! Image removed by sender. Smile
Cheers,

Hi Rod,
I’m afraid I don’t have suggestions; I don’t have the time that I wish I did to participate on other lists, but I just thought if those who were on this list happened to be on other blindness lists that weren’t specific to GW, it would be a good thing if you would mention how satisfied you are as a GW customer (because of <whatever>), or mention how the scripting is both so robust with features and easy to learn since it can be done in any standard programming language one cares to use.

<grin>
Thanks again Rod,
Chip

Smile
