Hi Bruce,
I’m sure GW will also tell you, but turning on braille does not do anything to your notepad or any other type of files. It simply looks for a connected braille display, and if found, will send information to it.

Subject: Warning!
Hi,
I need to warn anyone who selects Braille when installing any upgrades, it goes in and turns on Braille every where and changes Notepad text files by inserting null characters into each file created.
I checked thinking it would give Braille support but did not expect it to check every check box in every set file...
I could not figure out why when sending text files to my professors they could not run or compile the files and they had scores of errors with null characters and such.
I think this is a very bad flaw for Windoweyes. Now I need to know how to shut it off, or will I have to go to each set file and shut it off, for when doing it from the notification area it did not change the setting when opening up Notepad for it was still checked.
So, this has to be fixed!
Sincerely
Bruce A. Babcock
