if the start button really is not talking you could just give the button a description with insert forward slash f. of course if it is already talking and you do this it will say button twice like mine did when i gave mine a description. grin.

I am seeing this problem now with only one of my customers. The problem
appears to be when you have a secondary monitor enabled on your graphics
card. My customer had two plug and play monitors installed in
Display/Settings, though there was only one Plug and Play monitor in Device
Manager. We are still trying to resolve this problem, but I have a feeling
that this is the cause of Window-Eyes freaking out. If I load Narrator or
JAWS on that system, they speak fine, but Window-Eyes really doesn't like it
if you have two monitors enabled, even if the secondary monitor is not
extended onto the desktop.

These are my findings on this anyway.
