Startup before startup goes to wrong sound card

Hi all,

I have a small problem with the sound output during login, when the startup
type is set to before startup. I have 2 sound cards installed, 1 SB-Live and
an USB Headset, where the SB-Live is my default playback sound device. When
I startup my PC the login screen with user and password prompt comes up, but
the sound output of WE, means good old Reed, goes to my headset instead of
the SB-Live. After entering my password and hitting enter the sound output
comes correctly through the SB-Live.

It seems to me that WE is not using the default playback sound device before
login information is provided. Has anybody else seen this before?
Any hint is welcome

Configuration: P4 3GHz, 1024 MB, WinXP Pro SP2 full updated, WE 60 Voice
Eloquence Reed

Cheers,
