Matthew,
I'm not sure I'm fully following this here. On launch of Window-Eyes
if you have a braille display connected it will try and communicate
to that display. For the Braille Lite M20 Window-Eyes connects to a
driver created by Freedom. That function should fail if the display
is not connected. Assuming it does fail then Window-Eyes will
disable the braille and never try to talk to the display again.
If however you are using the display with Window-Eyes and then
disable the display or disconnect it, there is no message from the
display to say that it is no longer there. I'll mark this down to
see if the driver Window-Eyes is connected to will return an error if
the device is not connect or responding when data is sent to it. In
such a case it could be aborted from then on.
Regards,
Doug

Then, that means trouble. I used Jaws with the display and don't
have this issue. I figured it was WE trying to send info to the
display, May I suggest a fix on this where if WE can't get a
response to the display to auto disable the feature until it sense
that the display has been powered up?. Seems like this could be
easily intergrated into WE. Just my thought.
Thanks
Matthew.
P.S. Sad I can't use my display when I want to.

hi when not using the display before removing it set the display in
window eyes to none.
this will prevent the program from looking for some thing that is not there.

Subject: Braille Display issue
Ok, I'm running WE 5.5, and I hook up my Braille Lite M20 display,
when I'm not using the display, window eyes acts like it's stuck all
the time. Is there a problem that I'm not aware of with running a
Braille display with WE or is it due to my Braille display that WE
is trying to use. Thanks any help will be appreciated.
Matthew.
