This often happens when Outlook 2003 is set to HTML. You can try
changing the setting to rich text under Tools Option. this might work
better for you.

Subject: Outlook cutting off stuff in outlook

Hey guys,

I don't know what to do any more but I need some serious help with my
outlook 2003. I'm running vista and outlook 03.
I have this problem all the time and I can't be wasting my time, nor can
I
afford this happening. Outlook is cutting off random parts of my
messages.
For instance I'll be typing a message then go back to read a line and it
cuts words off. I'll read the line letter by letter or word by word and
I'll get to a word, press right arrow and all I ehar is ding ding ding
ding
ding ding ding ding.
It's like it'll say a few letters, and while I know the other letters
are
there, it's like it cuts them off. Is there any explaination to this
cause
it's very annoying.
Any help would be appreciated. Even after maximizing doesn't help.

Thanks,
Jed
