I have done more experimenting. When I have highlighted a file name in a directory listing, I hear “no text selected."” However, I do hear the various attributes of the file such as size, date, etc. If I have selected more than 1 file, I hear characteristics of the file I am currently on. I uninstalled and reinstalled Window-
Eyes, and the result is the same.

I was able to hear the file names I had selected with the size, type, date modified, etc. as chosen from the View menu. Now, I get the messwage, “no text selected.” I would appreciate finding out what setting displays selected files with checkboxes. I often record music in WAV format and then convert to MP3. I go down the list and select WAV files for deletion. I need to know which files I have chosen. I get the “no text selected” message no matter whether I try to select individual files, a group of files, or 1 file.

can you provide more specifics as far as what you were able to hear and what you can't now? you can make items appear as checkboxes in windows explorer, can't remember where that setting is though

I am using WE 7.5.4.1. In the past, I have been able to use the Windows keys to select files for deletion or transfer. I have been able to tell which files are selected and select individual files. Today, I tried this, and the text selection key just says no text selected. How should I fix this? I am using Windows 7 64-bit Pro.
