Hi. HP, Dell, Acer, etc. all put software on their machines that at best are resource hogs and at worst cause instability. You'll find this with the larger manufacturers. There are some reasons to go for HP. Their keyboards are really quite nice especially if you choose a model with the full keyboard like the DV6 or DV7 series. The function keys are split in groups of 4 like a regular desktop keyboard. They also have a very nice feature that is helpful for blind users. They put a button on the touchpad making it extremely easy to toggle on and off. Unfortunately, there are no absolutes here. All manufacturers have had series or models that have had problems. They also have had great success as well. You may get more straight forward feedback if you tell us specific models you're considering .

Subject: QUESTION ABOUT WINDOW EYES AND HP COMPUTERS

I would like to know if any of you are using an HP computer, and if so, how WINDOW EYES works with it? I am thinking about getting a new lap top, and I am looking at a DELL and an HP that look promising for what I needdin in a computer. The only thing is, several years ago when I bought a computer, I tried an HP and WINDOW EYES didn't do well with it at all. But that was several years ago, so I'm sure things have changed a bunch since then. I have a DELL lap top now, so I know a dell will work, but I was a bit gun shy about an HP because of my past experience. Thanks for any advise you can give me on this.
