Getting a labeled graphic to read as part of a lineDate:

I can identify it to the right of the folder, and if I read line with
the mouse keys, the line is read, folder graphic and all. The read line
key however does not read the graphic. What am I missing here? Thanks

I am using Mozilla Thunderbird as my Windows mail client. Overall, it
is working well. It is quite accessible.
One of the things I would like to improve upon is its reading of the
folders list in the manage folder subscriptions screen. Easy enough
said I, I identified which graphic indicated a subscribed folder and
which an unsubscribed folder. I labeled them, and made sure that the
read graphic as part of line was checked.
The graphics are labled,and read correctly with the mouse.
