Hello,

I am using Dragon NaturallySpeaking to write this letter.

If your client has a clear voice. He may not need to train the program.

It is more about training the user to dictate.

For example, I am using Dragon NaturallySpeaking currently without any
training whatsoever.

So far I have not had to make a single correction.

You might want to see the archives for this mailing list for ideas and
suggestions as it has been discussed at great link previously.

My recommendations are as follows.

Change your keyboard layout to either laptop or vocal-eyes layout.

Get a high quality wireless microphone from no cables, no compromises.

This unit will provide 40 hours of talk time.

The unit can be affixed to his chair.

Have your client listen to the tutorial several times.

This will provide him with assistance on how to dictate.

Review the help information found in Dragon for the recommended settings,
for visually impaired users.

Also, it is a good idea to review the help information for the program he
will wish to use.

each program has different commands.

He will also need to learn his global commands.

put the program on the system tray.

I hope some of these suggestions are of use.

I offer them as my own personal experience as a Dragon user.

Please understand that I have full use of my hands and the keyboard.
However, I find my spelling is not good and I use Dragon to assist with this
complication.

Subject: WE and voice recognition

I am totally blind and use WE for all my work. I'm also a volunteer with
the Mass. Commission on the Blind. Currently I'm working with a man who has
MS and is unable to move anything except his head slightly; he's also
blind. I was wondering if it would be possible to set him up with a
computer that he can manipulate with his voice, while depending on WE for
output. My 2 main concerns are: how can he train the voice recognition;
what about feedback between input and output.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Rick
