Hi,
Audacity looks like a really interesting program and I would like to get into it. Right away after installing it I found that I experienced about a half-second delay between when I would play a note and when I'd hear it in the headphones or speakers, which really bummed me out. I'm using
a Dell 5150 with a Pentium IV cpu at 3.4ghz and 2 GB RAM, with the onboard Sigmatel sound. Maybe I need another sound card. If anyone has any tips for me, let's take it off-list so we don't generate a lot of off-topic chatter about it. Thanks.

I know SR, SF, GW are not.

Dane,
I agree with you regarding Gold Wave, but since Audacity is out there free, I am glad to see that it is becoming more
accessible. Trying the Gold Wave demo is certainly something one should do when evaluating options.
