Hello listers, below is a copy of the message that I received from
Microsoft reguarding Outlook Express. Maybe this will explain a bit
further what is happening.

"Dear Microsoft Outlook Express customer,
Thank you for using Microsoft® Outlook® Express. Our information
indicates that you
use Outlook Express to access a Windows Live™ Hotmail® e-mail account
via a protocol
called DAV (Distributed Authoring and Versioning protocol). DAV, like
POP3 or IMAP,
is the way that a mail client communicates with a web-based mail server.
As a valued customer, we want to provide advanced notice that as of June
30, 2008,
Microsoft is disabling the DAV protocol and you will no longer be able
to access
your Hotmail Inbox via Outlook Express. As an alternative, we recommend
that you
download Windows Live Mail, a free desktop e-mail client that has the
familiarity
of Outlook Express and much more. This next generation of free e-mail
software will
allow you to easily manage multiple e-mail accounts—including Windows
Live Hotmail,
plus other e-mail accounts that support POP3/IMAP. Better yet, Windows
Live Mail
integrates well with other Windows Live services, and downloads in
minutes. After
you provide your user name and password, you will automatically be
linked to your
Hotmail account, providing continued access to your email and contacts.
We encourage you to download Windows Live Mail at
http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview
..
And, to make your transition smoother, we've provided answers to
frequently asked
questions below.
Again, thank you for your use of Outlook Express and we are confident
that you'll
be just as delighted with the new Windows Live Mail".
If you update Internet Explorer, it will not do anything to your email
client. Windows Live Mail has a completely diffrerent layout and feel
then Outlook Express. So far my experience with WLM is a bit difficult,
will keep all posted

Hello to the list.
I thought that Window Eyes worked well with Windows Live Mail.
I am missing something here.
What is the trouble with using the windows live mail program?
If I update Internet Explorer for xp is this what I am going to get as
the mail program?

I'm currently trying to work with Windows Live Mail and find it very
difficult at this point.
I'm trying to get some answers from tech support at Microsoft but it
looks like it'll be a long process. It seems they have a hard time
understanding what I'm trying to get across to them.
I'm using Window-eyes 6.1 on an xp machine so I guess I'll keep
trying to get some answers and maybe get it working

Hi guys. :) How is Window-Eyes 7.0 coming with supporting Windows
Live Mail?
Apparently, it's important, according to MICROSOFT, it is the newest
and
most "going-to-be-supported" mailer, so, my question. Now, access is,
spotty, at best, especially access to the menus, etc.
I don't really have any access to any other than a Microsoft mailer
with
this computer, so, at the moment, Outlook Express works, but, there
are many
things which Eudora, PM-Mail, Calypso, and others do, which OE does
not, and
I assume, (dangerous as that is to assume, I know) that Windows Live
Mail,
will handle sounds for different "rules" which I really want, which
OE does
not support, among other things, hence, my request.

Thanks!

Curtis Delzer
