No offense man, but I think you read that rong. That sounds like the
price for the full suite, including authoring tools and such. You
just need the player, and that distinctly says $49.99 on the product
info page at cyberlink.com. It's still a lot of money if your
hardware doesn't happen to ship with it, but no reason to make it
worse than it has to be.

Personally if you can get vlc player to work I'd go with that. Do you
really care about high-end grafics accelleraters and smoothe grafic-
shaping algorythms? No? Then you don't absolutely need powerdvd. I
just use it because it comes with all my stuff for free.

Best,

Erik

Caughs, Splutters, Surely not. $50. direct from the company.
http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/products/main_1_ENU.html
Even that's a bit high. I'm so used to getting it for free with
every burner I buy or build into a machine, that I never even weigh
the coust. At that though, it might be time to look at VLC player,
or be a bit more selective when choosing your hardware.

BTW, if your hardware came with winDVD, that is also accessible. I
don't know all the ins and outs of it, but there are a lot of people
using it here if memory serves.

Best,

Erik

Hi, Regarding power dvd, it's my favourite one. To start playing
the first title or chapter on a disc, press the enter key between
one and 3 times leaving a couple of seconds between each press. Be
patient as many dvd's begin with a very low volume sound track, or
none at all.
To start from a specific title or chapter, press the applications
key.
Press G for go to.
Arrow to the title you want and press enter.
Arrow to the chapter you want and press enter.
Power DVD keystrokes.
Play enter,
pause/resume space bar,
stop s
Next chapter n
Previous chapter P,
Fast Forward f,
Rewind R,
Volume Up =,
Volume down -,

Best,
