Hi there everybody. I'm in another group where a debate over whether Sound
Forge or GoldWave is the better audio editor resurfaces from time to time. I
always get kind of a kick out of it, because what happens is that the
GoldWave supporters end up feeling that they're right and the sound Forge
faithful conclude that they are right.

In my reality, the better audio editor is the one that you prefer, just as
the best screen reader is the one that works best for you and the best
operating system is the one that works best for you.

Want my two cents? Ok, here comes. Right now, today, I use XP because, for
me, it does what I need, both professionally and personally. I expect that
one day I'll upgrade. Maybe to Mac, maybe to Vista. But it will be when I'm
ready, not because Microsoft has trotted out a new latest and greatest
operating system to replace the last latest and greatest operating system
that they told us we just had to have. Second verse, same as the first,
folks. Do whatever works for you and be happy.

Peace,

Larry

Where is your evidence?

Whilst there might be some things that people don't like about Vista, and
given that I regard myself as reasonably computer savvy, tell me and the
list why I should downgrade my Vista machine to XP?

Vaughan.

Hi,
Just my 2 cents, but I don't know why anyone would upgrade XP to Vista
when most savvy computer users are downgrading new vista machines to XP.

Yes. And the different flavors of Windows Vista don't take a lot more ram
than the ones lower on the ladder. If you don't use Aero you'll be fine
without any more memory, unless you're doing video editing or something.
