No, Wineyes can't scan a page and read it, as that requires optical character recognition (OCR). This is what programs like Kurzweil 1000 do, although you could get a mainstream OCR program that doesn't have speech output and use it in conjunction with Wineyes. But Wineyes can't do OCR on its own, no.

I hope I ask this question right. Is there any way WindowEyes can read a scanned text? My experience so far has been that it thinks the scanned text is an image file, and it will not read it. It thinks it's a picture I suppose.
