Yes you are very welcome. Because this list is to teach us all with new
concepts or solving problems. What com port did you have to use in the end?
Because with my Brailliant I have to use USB serial comport 6. However if I
change over to Bluetooth with the brailliant I have to change the comport in
WE to 12 or 13.
If I go to the Alva with the Serial to USB bridge I have to change the
display settings in WE and go to comport 4 or 5.
If you want Braille display to read Grade 2 braille for all your programmes
go to WE control pannel, Scrolling options, press A to apply all braille
settings to all your programmes. Say YES then press OK apply the changes to
save your set file to be on safe side.
Kind regards
Michelle

Well: I was too impatient.
Things took a great deal longer than I had thought, so there are more
Vista details that I need to know.
Now have everything working perfectly: Vista did say that the driver's
publisher could not be recognised, but I gues that is standard.
Also: thanks to Michelle who has been writing off list concerning this.
Vaughan.

Hi Bill.
You are partially right: found the file and have run it twice sincedownloading. Looks like Windows Vista doesn't like it, but i'm happy to
await more advice.
All the best.

The fine support staff at GW can correct me if I am wrong but if mymemory serves me correctly you should try getting the drivers from:
ftp.gwmicro.com/special/fsbrldsp.msi
If you download and run this file I believe that will install the drivers
for the display.
I don't know if this was ever tested in Vista.
It has been a while since I had to tell anyone how to do this so pleaseforgive me if this isn't the right answer to your question.
Regards, Bill

Hello everyone.
I hesitate to write this, as I am not certain that this is something
which GW Micro should solve, but just maybe!
I have a Focus braille display, and of course, it is well supported byWindow-Eyes under Windows XP. I cannot get Vista to do anything other
than identify the display, and I cannot get Window-Eye to output to it.Under Xp and Window-Eyes, the display was truly plug and play, and I am
guessing that I actually have to wait for Freedom Scientific to come upwith a firmware update. Don't really want to install a Jaws demo just
to get the display to work, so are there any suggestions that I canfollow?
Thanks.
Vaughan.
