Subject: RE: the apps you can't live without (must have)
Well, the important ones are now included with WE (such as AppGet) when it installs (I believe).
The most important I find to be “Window Manager”, which you can set to automatically maximize the window of any given program. Forgetting to maximize the window is my biggest mistake when something isn’t working right.
Also, one I wrote called “Windows Annoyances” and one from GW called “Windows Enhanced” should be useful to everyone.
Everything else depends on what you use: if you have a laptop, I really like “Audible Battery Status” which gives you an audible cue if your power cord comes loose.
If you use Vista or XP, and Eloquence, then “Change SoundCard” is very helpful if you use Bluetooth or USB headphones or speakers.
I use one I wrote named “Hot-Wind” which allows you to assign a hotkey to each of your open windows if you frequently switch between programs.
If you use MS Office then make sure you have Office Enhance and if you use Outlook then make sure you have Outlook Enhance. Also, one I wrote for Word called Word Advanced Features might be helpful. And one from GW called “Word Navigation” definitely is.
If you use internet explorer, then IE Enhance is a must.
I find “Weather or Not” quite nice for a quick weather report.
And I use the included AutoComplete all the time.
If you are a script developer, then there are a separate long list of must have apps, as well as some for less-frequently used programs. This is why AppGet is so helpful.
Hth,
Chip

What do you think are the apps one should definetely have, the must have. I’ve noticed there are several apps from 2008 and so forth, and I guess a lot of those things have been corrected in the new versions of windows eyes so what do you think is a must have?
Thanks.
