Yes; GWConnect uses the exact same audio codec as native Skype. It is
their kit which we are using to handle audio calls.
As for message reception, I am not aware of any way to verify whether it
reached the target user(s) once you send it. Once you post the message,
Skype essentially takes over and its network is responsible for ensuring
its delivery. Of course, you can always ask the intended user to see if
he/she received it.
