update to HotWind appDate:
Thu, Mar 8, 2012 8:01:07 pmHi all,
Just an FYI to say I've updated the HotWind app with the requested features:
allowing you to choose the modifiers to be used with the hotkeys, the order
in which the numbers are assigned, and see (and pick from) a list of windows
with an assigned hotkey. There was also a bugfix release after the update
was released.
For those who don't know, HotWind allows you to assign hotkeys to specific
windows so that you can activate them using the hotkey. This is really only
useful for those who tend to have a large number of windows open at once.
You are limited to 10 hotkey windows, and you do have to choose them each
time you open the application; it doesn't try and create a file containing
only your favorite windows (there is a valid technical reason for this
limitation, and I'm afraid it's going to stay this way).
It assigns the hotkeys from the numeric row digits, and you choose either
"left to right" (so it assigns the first window to the 1 key and the last to
the 0 key), or the other direction. Assigning them from right to left is
helpful if you're using the windows key as one of your modifiers, and your
keyboard only has one on the left side for instance. You can choose any
combination of six modifier keys to combine with the digit key.
There's also a hotkey for indicating the current window is to be assigned a
hotkey, and one to bring up a list of the currently assigned windows with
their keys.
Enjoy,
Chip
