Hi Steve, well this version is broken, sorry!
I, first just ran the installation program and updated to 1.03 of
GWC, and was thrilled that I could connect two landline people,
(skype out) contacts together, but, when I called a regular skype
contact, all they heard was the same outgoing "ring ring," sound that
I was hearing and couldn't answer the call, all they could do was hang it up.
So, I had them call me, and I heard the out going ring ring sound
similarly, couldn't answer the "incoming" call (with outgoing ring
ring sound, either, and did not see the "accept or deny," call dialog either.
So, I figured that somehow, installing on top of the old gw-connect
caused problems, but naught was the case.
went into control pannel, uninstalled GWC, (system is , windows 7
64 Bit premium),
deleted the reference under program files (x86),
went to C:UsersCurtisAppDataRoamingGWConnect, deleted that
directory, and installed fresh.
Once again I was able to call a landline, and then, though she, only
could make my GWC make the ring ring sound for an outgoing call when
she was calling me. when I called her she got nothing at all when I
heard the ring ring sound, though she was on-line. I knew she was
calling me because I have a "skype phone adapter" on the line and it
rings b4 skype does, and it worked in v1.02 just fine, but in v1.03 I
got the ring ring outgoing sound, not any accept or deny request with
the appropriate buttons.
Does that sound broken? or what? strange, that GW-Micro would let
such a program go out the door.
I tried it more than once! GWC v1.02 works, we can call one at a
time, not conference but as least all of the appropriate actions take
place, incoming sounds happen and the dialog to "accept or deny" the
call, with alt-page up to answer, etc. but not in v1.03.
