Well what I did was check the anti virus and nothing came up in the
resident shield.
And when I press enter on someone's name it says my name along with the
chat.

I checked with the firewall and the firewall is already accepting the skype
connect.

No. If you call someone from the contact list and place another call to
a second person, also from the contact list, the two calls should merge.
Is this not happening for you?
