If you go into GWConnect's options, navigate to the speech tab, and
uncheck the "speak program-generated messages," that will at least stop
the connecting messages from being voiced. it would be interesting to
see if this likewise has any impact on the issue.
If not, I can send you a private build which will generate SkypeKit logs
which I can then forward on to Skype for investigation.
