Matt,

Anyone is free to take advantage of the Skypekit developer program to
integrate any Skype service into an existing application. That was the
initial point, after all, of the program. We decided to use this kit to
create an alternate but completely accessible Skype client. The
publically distributable runtime does not include any support for video
calls whatsoever. When Skype releases an update to support this, then we
likewise will work to add it into GWConnect. There is no conflict of
information.
