Fri, Feb 8, 2013 8:32:20 amHi Rod
Ok well I am not connected when I first boot my pc but once
I have connected it up, it stays connected all day, I don't
disconnect it, the reason for this is because I use 3g
internet but also have access to the occasional wifi so
prefer to choose my internet connection. When it is
connected, gw connects and bi-passes the adverts and logs
straight in and still alerts me to the fact that I am not a
window eyes customer, not sure why, I shouldn't be getting
any of this. It could just be my screen reader, I normally
use super nova but for reading e-mails I use nvda. Gw does
not interfere with nvda, just super nova. I have also
started booting the pc without gw running, I run it once I
am on the internet. It is easier. Also with 3g internet, I
cannot use skype as I only have a 3 gb per month limit, thus
I use my parents wifi sometimes.
You can get me on skype on adriencollins06 my e-mail address
is adriencollins22160@gmail.com.

Hi Adrien,
I was just thinking about your problem of getting requests
to upgrade
GWConnect. Forgive me if I'm mixing you up with somebody
else, but weren't
you the person who wrote a while back saying that you have
to manually
connect to the web? If this is so, is it possible that
GWConnect is not
recognizing your licence because you have to be connected
first before
launching GWConnect?
The only other thing I can think of right now is that
possibly the file
which tells GWConnect that you have a valid licence has been
quarantined by
your antivirus software. In such a situation, you would
simply add the
entire GWConnect configuration folder to the list of folders
to exclude from
a real-time scan and scheduled scans. Of course, the trick
is to find the
folder where such settings are stored, but we could find
that out fairly
easily, I think.
The problem for me, Adrienn, is that, since I'm a registered
Window-Eyes
user, I don't know precisely how GWConnect validates user
licences. If it
uses the web connection, then make sure you are connected to
the web before
launching GWConnect. If it uses a file, make sure nothing
is interfering
with the validation file.
I'm willing to help further using GWConnect as our means of
communication,
if you think this would help. Simply let me know which
e-mail address you
used to register with Skype, and I'll be able to search for
you.
Sincerely,
Rod Hutton

Hi
Anyone else having a problem with gw connect and super nova?
See below.
I use gw connect with skype, it makes hal freeze whenever
the aplet is loaded, even though I have purchased a year's
subscription to stop adverts, I still get reminders to
up-grade to window eyes which I obviously don't want to do
and it is these announcements and whenever someone comes on
line that is causing hal to spout off, there is no way to
stop it spouting until it has finished speaking, normally
people can press ctrl to stop the speech but it doesn't seem
to work. When I use the program, it works ok with hal, it is
just these adverts, how can I make hal ignore them and stay
silent?
