GW Micro Now Offering CEUs for Window-Eyes Training
GW Micro, Inc., a leader in assistive technology for the visually impaired (www.gwmicro.com), is pleased to announce that any student who attends a Window-Eyes training class is eligible to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs). CEUs are awarded for attending formal education courses, which can account for personal or professional growth.
In most states, CEUs can allow teachers, rehabilitation counselors, and other social workers to renew their licenses. In some instances, CEUs are required to renew these types of licenses. By taking Window-Eyes training, teachers, rehab counselors, and users can learn about the latest advances in assistive technology, and how it can be utilized in the daily life of a blind or visually impaired person. This type of training continues to allow disabled people to advance quickly in the workplace, and promote educational growth through learning how to make computers accessible.
“We are proud to offer CEUs for our training classes. Rehabilitation counselors can come and learn how to train their clients with Window-Eyes, while gaining CEUs that they can apply toward renewing their license,” says Clarence Whaley, Training Division Manager for GW Micro. “As a blind person, I appreciate the fact that my blind students can now learn how to use their screen reader to its fullest potential, while earning educational credit at the same time.”
Window-Eyes training courses are offered in the United States and Canada, and are open to everyone, whether you are sighted or blind. For more information regarding Window-Eyes training, visit www.gwmicro.com/training.
