Oct-23-2009GW Micro and ClickAndGo Wayfinding Maps Make ATIA 2009 Chicago Easy to Navigate With Cutting-Edge Technology
Visit GW Micro in Booth #313 -- you could receive a free gift
An innovative navigation technology being launched at ATIA Oct. 28-31 in Schaumburg, IL will give blind and deaf-blind conference attendees free access to mobility-friendly walking directions for the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.
GW Micro is joining with ClickAndGo Wayfinding Maps from InTouch Graphics to make the entire venue navigable and accessible down to a level of detail that is unparalleled by any other service or technology today. Rather than depend on strangers or other people for directions, conference attendees can obtain specific directions to help them find their way independently to the hotel and convention center registration desk, interior restaurants, ballrooms, function rooms, restrooms, guide dog relief areas, and other destinations.
Accessing the directional routes will be especially easy for GW Micro customers who have a Braille Sense Plus, Braille Sense Plus QWERTY, Voice Sense, or Window-Eyes screen reading software.
If you have a GW Micro BookSense XT, you can transfer the downloaded files directly to the internal storage of the BookSense XT. Or, you can transfer the downloaded files to an SD card and play them on your BookSense or BookSense XT
Using Window-Eyes and your computer or a GW Micro notetaker, you can access all the routes by going to www.clickandgomaps.com/atia. The text-based and audio MP3 directions are accessed by selecting a starting point landmark and a destination landmark from the drop-down lists and then clicking the "go!" button.
You can also select a point of interest for ATIA 2009 Chicago. Detailed point of interest descriptions are available from the drop-down list. Select the point of interest from the list and click the "find!" button.
To access all the venue routes, go to "Click here for a full list of routes for ATIA 2009 Chicago." Or, to access points of interest, go to "Click here for a full list of landmarks and points of interest for ATIA 2009 Chicago."
Conference attendees can prepare their routes in advance. The routes can be downloaded and saved directly from the Web site. GW Micro customers can then preview the routes on their Braille Sense Plus, Braille Sense Plus QWERTY, Voice Sense, or BookSense. They can also use their computer with Window-Eyes. Routes can also be printed in Braille for easy reference.
