Reading
With the press of a button, the Vocatex Plus starts reading the passage of text that is positioned under the column selector, a vertical line that runs down the middle of the screen. A customizable reading frame tracks each word as it is read aloud providing an engaging bimodal reading experience. Or if you prefer, just sit back, relax your eyes and let the Vocatex Plus read to you.
Thanks to the intelligent reading functions offered by the Vocatex Plus, you can now read entire pages of text without any interruption by simply changing the position of your text under the camera. Reading a newspaper article was never this easy!
Press the read button on the Vocatex Plus to start reading and then continue to move the article under the camera as you progress through the text. On the bottom of the screen, a progress indicator will be displayed that shows you how far along you are in the text and can help you indentify when it is time to move to the next passage or column of text. The Vocatex Plus will automatically recognize new text and continue reading without pausing.

Magnification
The Vocatex Plus has a high definition camera. The resulting HD image is razor sharp and provides high contrast and a wide array of vivid colors. The Vocatex Plus offers a wide range of magnification. Using a 22 inch display, the Vocatex Plus boasts a starting magnification level of 2.3X and can magnify up to 90X when used with a 37 inch display.
In addition, the Vocatex Plus offers adjustable brightness control and 28 different high contrast color combinations allowing you to select the colors that work best for you. To help enhance your reading experience even more, the Vocatex Plus also offers line markers and windowing to help you visually track the text you want to read.
Easy to Use Controls
Operating the Vocatex Plus is easy with buttons that are illumiated and simple to find. All of the controls for magnfication are located to the left of the large centered zoom wheel and all of the buttons located to the right of the zoom wheel are for controlling the reading functions. In addition, every button on the Vocatex Plus provides you with audible feedback so you are always in complete control.
Multiple Screen Sizes Available
The size of the screen is of crucial importance when selecting the appropriate magnification solution. With the right screen size, you will read more comfortably and efficiently. The Vocatex Plus is available with a 26", 32" as well as a 37" display. Individuals with Macular Degeneration generally have a wide field of vision, therefore it is often best to select a wide screen of 32" or even 37". Those who have a narrow field of vision, as is the case with Retinitis Pigmentosa, can choose from either a large or medium sized screen. The appropriate screen size makes all the difference!
