by Bruce BabcockYou activate this game by using the Control-Alt-B key combo.
This game is a version of the original Battleship game with enhanced sounds.
You use letters (A-I) to navigate horizontally fast in the battle field.
You use numbers 1 through 9 to navigate vertically fast in the battle fieled.
Or you can use just the 4 arrow cursur keys to navigate slowly in the battle field.
Once on a position to fire at, hit the enter key to fire.
Hitting the Space Bar tells you if you have played the position you are on after moving fast in the battlefield.
The Game Options Are
The F5, F6, and F7 keys tell you the present score you have based on strikes on each ship.
F5 for player 1, F6 for computer, and F7 for player 2 score.
The F9 key allows you to change the background sound and you select the sound using the cursor up and down keys then hitting the enter key to save the selection.
The F10 key shuts off the background sound; and it toggles on and off.
Player Voice Adjustments:
The Del or Shift Del key adjusts the present speaking voice up or down.
The End or shift End key adjusts the present player voice volume up or down.
The PageDown or shift PageDown key adjusts the present player voice rate up or down.
The PageUp or shift PageUp key adjusts the present player voice Pitch up or down.
(Note: Also holding down the CTRL key with the above key combinations adjusts the other players voice, to allow easy adjustment of the computer's voice.)
Speaker Adjustments:
You can also adjust speaker position to insure the left side of the ocean is the left speaker and the right side of the ocean is the right speaker; when you are facing the speakers while playing the game.
The F3 key tests for the left speaker and the F4 key plays the right side speaker
and plays a sound so you can tell if there correct.
If F3 plays the right speaker or F4 plays the left speaker then just hold down the Shift Key and hit either the F3 or F4 key and the speakers will be swapped; right will play left and left will play right.
This setting toggles so you can repeat the procedure to reverse or swap the speakers...
Switching Player Position:
The F2 key toggles player positions. Player 1 is originally on the left side and hitting the F2 key it is switched to the right speaker and the computer or player 2 is switched to the left speaker.
The Escape or F11 key quits the game.
The F8 key just tells how many moves you have made on the battle field.

1/9/2013 8:04:50 PMVersion 2.1 enhances the Dialog Box menu help descriptions and has added the feature to have the NumLock turned on during the game to allow you to use the numeric 10 key pad. It will turn it back to it's original state upon leaving the game. Also added was a correct description in the package file. Version 2.0 has added the WindowEyes voices for the players in the game. Voice adjustments all reside using the 5 keys above the arrow keys or the Del, End, Page Up and Down keys. Holding down the shift key lowers the above selection value. Holding down the CTRL key changes the opponents voice settings. The Home keys allows for lowering the background sound so it does not shout over the player voices. F2 to F4 keys change player or speaker positions without having to move the speakers.

4/28/2012 3:08:11 PMVersion 1.2 keeps all voices at the default value if only one voice installed. You can still adjust player voices and computer voices by using the F3 and F4 keys to go down and up the list of voices. This is to make sure you have a voice upon startup of the game. This download and installation will also delete any files if the data folder exists and none are copied. Version 1.1 changed the pitch adjustment to using the Del key with the shift or no shift key pressed to move pitch down and up respectively. Voice Sapi selection now lists all Sapi voices in all computers using the F3 and F4 keys. If a voice is not registered legally there will be no voice said on that location and you must move beyond that blank space to select the next voice.
