Homer Shared Object 8.4
by Jamal MazruiHomerSharedObject.vbs is a global script that registers a SharedObject called Homer. Other scripts may use nearly 100 convenience functions by calling methods of the Homer object.
The help dialog lets you choose whether to read this documentation in a web browser or show a demo of several canned dialogs of the library. The following dialogs are demonstrated:
DialogInput(sTitle, sName, sValue) = standard InputBox dialog with sTitle as the title, containing an edit box with sName as the label and sValue as the default value. Returns the new value, or an empty string if Escape was pressed.
DialogMultiInput(sTitle, aNames, aValues) = similar but with any number of edit boxes. The aNames array holds their names, and aValues holds their values. The initial letter of each name is made a trigger letter (Alt+Letter activates the associated edit box). Returns an array of values.
DialogConfirm(sTitle, sMessage, sDefault) = standard Yes/No message box, with the prrompt in sMessage and the default set with sDefault. Returns Y or N (or an empty string if canceled).
DialogChoose(sTitle, sMessage, aNames) = choose from any number of buttons in aNames, prompted by sMessage. A Cancel button is added automatically. The initial letter of each button is made a trigger letter (Alt+Letter activates the button). Returns the name of the button chosen.
DialogPick(sTitle, aNames, aValues, bSort) = pick from a single selection listbox displaying aNames. The corresponding item in aValues is returned, so display names can differ from underlying values. bSort determines whether the list is sorted alphabetically.
DialogMultiPick(sTitle, aNames, aValues, bSort) = pick any number of items from a multiple selection listbox, returned in an array. bSort determines whether the list is sorted alphabetically.
DialogOpenFile(sTitle, sPath) = standard open file dialog where sPath is either a file or folder.
DialogSaveFile(sTitle, sPath) = similar for a save file dialog.
DialogBrowseForFolder(sTitle, sDir) = standard browse for folder dialog where sDir is the initial directory.
